I am a chiropractor, and as such am bound by social pressure to always be a representative of chiropractic. Being a christian I also represent Christ. Being a citizen of the United States of America I represent my country. If I were to evangelize or debate politics on my professional site though I would turn some people off, and I want everyone to be able to come to my practice without feeling judged or threatened. If you would like my professional comments please visit the links provided. With that in mind this is not a professional blog, and I will be exercising my freedom of speech here. I will express my opinion and hope that you too will be willing to express yours. Please comment, question, and enjoy my personal blog. I plan too.

Voting For Someone

I have in the past lamented elections where I felt that the choices presented no option to vote for someone or something. I don't want to vote for Obama, and I don't see my self voting for McCain either. I thought that during this presidential election I would have to find some third party candidate that I agree with. If you've ever tried it's hard. Third party candidates are always a little extreme. I was to the point that I was just going to focus on the local elections. After all that's where it really matters. I still will focus close to home.

I am glad to announce that I think I can vote for Sarah Palin, and almost regret that it is for VP and not for President. Sure I have my doubts as I've blogged before, but I feel confident that she is a leader, and has taken things prayerfully into consideration and is doing what she feels is right for her family and for this country. I like her, and I like what she stands for. Her views and stances on the issues of our time are similar enough to mine that I would happily vote for her, and that's a good feeling.

Gov. Palin Visits KuwaitCAMP BUEHRING, Kuwait -(July 28, 2007) Gov. Sarah Palin stands underneath the Alaska flag with Lt. Col. David Osborn during the governor's recent visit to Kuwait. The governor was visiting Alaska Army National Guard Soldiers who have been deployed to the country since October 2006. Osborn is commander of the Guard's 3rd Battalion, 297th Infantry, and lives in Anchorage.

I really appreciated reading this. Your willingness to study the issues and develop opinions about our nation's current events is part of why you are a very patriotic person.

I also appreciate your willingness to help me develop my social awareness.

I'm glad you have found someone in the national elections that you can support.

Thank you, darling! I sure love you!

I was wondering what Palin's "views and stances on the issues of our time" were? I've heard very little about anything like this except her willingness to fight corruption, mostly by replacing current establishment with her friends and family (which while I'm sure they're very nice people, isn't really the right way to prevent corruption), her extreme religious beliefs, and her strongly anti-feminist views (colored by her religious beliefs, I would assume).

I read your earlier post about why you like her, and it seemed vague. High approval ratings and being a member of the NRA seem like not great reasons to vote for one candidate over another, even less so if you're picking a party based on the VP.

Oh boy. Did you really just come on a personal blog and anonymously question the validity of the writers opinion. Wow! And the method...feigning ignorance, while listing specifics that oppose the stated view. -sigh-

Did you really wonder about governor Palin? I find that hard to believe when in the same sentence you accuse her of nepotism, and sexism (even though she's a woman). Then, perhaps not knowingly, you claim that Palin's religious views are extreme; to a mormon!? Perhaps you ought to research the personal blogger a bit before posting your attacks to determine if doing so might be offensive to them.

If you'd really like to know why I would choose someone to vote for I will tell you. I know that any person can be corrupted, if they allow it. I also know from too long in business that just because you held a job with a cool title doesn't mean that you are good at it. I know that political speeches are crafted and do not show the heart of a person. All political ads and news are biased distortions. I've done the political thing myself on a limited scale, and was very dissatisfied with the taste left in my mouth.
Being left with no standard method of choosing between candidates I attempt my own method. I get my information regarding a candidate from the source. I do not listen to rants from the opposing side. If the candidate them self cannot show their best side to my satisfaction then I rule them out. Next I look into past performance, where possible, and determine consistency with my beliefs. Lastly I turn to my own extreme religious views, namely, that God cares about me enough to personally answer my prayer. Thus I pray for guidance, judgment, and that I am able to do His will. I work things out on my own, I receive inspiration. I then make a judgment call and vote.

I hope that explains it for you. I vote by endorsement. By two personal endorsements; my own and God's. My method is fallible, because I am, but if you have a better method I'd be happy to hear it.
In the mean time understand this; I love discussion and debate, I loath cowardly anonymous attacks. So, if you'd care to take off your mask of anonymity and discuss positive ideas you are welcome here. You will find me more open minded than many, but negativity and base attacks will not find a place here. (If I stoop to them I hope that someone will call me on it.)

I'd like to apologize.

I was by no means trying to attack you, invade your personal blogging space, or say anything negative about you or even Sarah Palin on a personal level. By "extreme", I just meant not the typical rather lackadaisical religious views held by a large portion of Americans. My own religious views are "extreme" by my definition, and I assure you, I meant it not as an insult but merely a descriptor. If it's an offensive descriptor, I'll look for a different one.

I would attempt to explain my position and evangelize you to it, but I guess this really isn't the place for that. I don't usually comment on blogs or have my own, and it didn't occur to me this sort of comment would be inflammatory on your personal blog. You're of course free to make whatever choice you want however you want to make it, and I really had no right to invade your space this way.

So once more, I'd like to say that I'm sorry, and I meant no disrespect. Feel free to delete these comments if you feel they're out of place, unnecessary, or just plain unpleasant. This truly was not my intention, and I am very sorry.

You are more than welcome to ask questions leave ideas, and even disagree. I welcome your view of politics, religion, and the world in general, but please no attacks or negativity. I want to vote for someone, not against. Please tell me your views for someone. You can even remain anonymous, but attacks by anonymous people are usually just written of as trolling.
